MIA...and then some!!

Good Lord in heaven....I never meant to completely neglect my poor little blog. I don't know if it loves me anymore.

SOOO much has happened since December! I'm going to do some picture posts to show what we've been up to for the past how many months?? I literally had to count...it's been FOUR months!! So sorry everyone. Blog, I'm so sorry.

Anyway, I've been taking pictures along the way with the hope of having the motivation to pick things back up. Thank you to Jessica at http://mrsstanfordsclass.blogspot.com/. She emailed me the other day, and I realized I have got to get in gear! ;o)

So before my classroom posts, here's a personal post about what's been going on in our at-home life! Remember last time where we're Prego? Well it's DEFINITELY showing now! I am 30 weeks preggo...10 more to go until we meet our little man! That's right...IT'S A BOY!! We went in for our last ultrasound today and got to see his sweet little face! This mommy is in love. No other way to describe it. He has his daddy's mouth...we're still trying to figure out where the rest of his features stem from. ;o)

Pictures every 2 weeks...starting at 15 weeks :o)

27 weeks                   and now 30 weeks!

Christmas in July...

Merry Christmas Eve, y'all!  :o)  The pumpkin cheesecakes have been put in the oven for their hour-long warm and toasty nap.   The oreo balls for tonight are finished.  ALL our presents are wrapped.  Starbucks hot chocolate is long gone.  I have to apologize to y'all - I have been very sporadic in my postings this school year (I feel like I say this every time I post!)...but the truth is, things have been a little different for this kinder teacher this year.  I have to say, I'm very grateful for Christmas Break.  I have been exhausted this first half of the year.  Surprising as it is, my tiredness has not come from my kindergarteners.

If you read back to my very first-ever post, you will find out that ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to be a mommy when I grow up.  I wrote that post almost one year ago.  We weren't quite ready to make our two-some a three-some back then, but guess what??

This was our announcement picture!  We took about a million of these, and we were going to put up the calmer version, but I laughed to the point of tears every time I looked at handsome's face in this picture, so this was the winner.  :o)  This was an idea I found, where else?, Pinterest!

So as the post title says, our Christmas will be in July.  I'm due July 1st - officially out of the first trimester and finally getting my energy back!  So maybe I'll be able to crank out more posts when we start our week of nothing next week.  :o)

Please, if it's your thing, offer up some prayers for our little lovey.  Everything is going great, and I pray and hope that it continues this way.  Being "Prego" is awesome!  But, it is such a huge responsibility, and I get very nervous about doing everything just right for this sweet little baby.  Thanks for all your love!

The Aftermath of Irene...

Happy Tuesday!  We are VERY happy here in the south that life is getting back to normal after a horrible hurricane.  We endured almost 48 hours straight of rain and wind.  It. lasted. forever.  We thought the rain wouldn't ever stop!  All over our city and surrounding cities and towns you can't drive a block without seeing at least one HUGE oak tree uprooted.

As the storm came over us on Friday night, my sissy and I camped out in the living room.  She's staying with us as she gets ready to move to Florida.  For some reason, after only one glass of wine, we started singing a song.  That somehow lead into trying to remember (successfully!) all of the words to "Part of Your World" sung by none other than Ariel herself!  THAT lead into changing the Pandora radio station to "Disney."  A little more wine, a little game of Scrabble, and we were in full Disney singing mode.  Here's sissy and my dog Kody and kitty Hank.

On a side note, like many girls our ages, when we were little we OBSESSED about the newest Disney animated film.  When she was 3, sissy "officially" changed her name to Princess Jasmine.  I remember our aunt called us one afternoon and asked for sissy, and sissy wouldn't come to the phone until our aunt asked to speak with "Princess Jasmine."  I can also fondly remember our family road trips to vacation in New York or to Florida (we live right smack in the middle of those two states, so our road trips were usually no less than 10 hours one way).  Our poor parents suffered as we sang at the TOP OF OUR LUNGS to every single song on every single soundtrack (on cassette tapes of course!).  We had to strike up compromises between "adult music time" aka NPR and "children music time."  Looking back, I feel like we were out-compromised because it was something like "y'all can listen to 2 songs and then we'll listen to NPR for an hour.  It's totally the same thing."  We were (and are still) so naive that we didn't ever figure out the difference!

My favorite moment of this Wine Scrabble Disney was "Hakuna Matata" ...somewhere in the middle of the song we were crying harder than we were laughing as the lyrics struck up some hilarious memories!  Love you, sissy!  :o)

Handsome and I were blessed because we suffered very minimal damaged as compared to many others around here.  Saturday morning we came upstairs to find our bay window leaking...no make that dripping water.  We stuck pots, bowls, and cups all along the window sill to try to keep our walls and carpets dry.  Turns out the water was coming in through the molding at the top and was behind the walls, so some of the spots in the walls are ruined.  See those drips running down the wall?  The one furthest to the right is NOT coming from the window sill.  It's seeping out from behind the wall.  Hopefully shouldn't be a big deal to fix.

As soon as the storm let up a little, we headed to handsome's parents house for the night.  We lost power, and so did they, but they had the *da-da-da-daaaa* generator!!  That same day their big tree in the back yard went down.  Luckily it didn't hit the house - it went the other way and landed on their two storage barns.  When the weather cleared, lots of friends came to help start the tree-removal process.

I helped the girls work on the front yard and back yard - my in-laws have lots of wonderful shade tress in their yard...but we all know what happens to those wonderful trees during a storm.  Yep!  Nature prunes them!  Here are our piles in the front...

And here is handsome helping us out in between cutting up the tree...

Because of this stupid storm, we have many friends and even some family dramatically effected by this storm.  Handsome's parents and hometown still have no power.  This is day 4 of no power.  Yuck.  Some have lost homes and/or vehicles.  I am counting my blessings more than you know.

Luckily we get to go back to school tomorrow.  There will still be some teachers and students who cannot come, but we're all going to get through this together!  Please send up your prayers and think of all those involved.  If you are going through this too, know that I'm thinking of you very much!

...be at peace, and all will be well...

Who Is My Teacher?

Hey y'all!  Happy Wednesday!  I wanted to share my teacher book that I made last year.  I have made 2 others in the past...I had to re-work them because my life has changed DRASTICALLY in the past 4 1/2 years of teaching!  Think about it...I have only known my handsome for 2 years and I've been teaching longer than that...

Here is my most recent version of "Who Is My Teacher?"  It is inspired directly from a book done by my teaching-idol Dr. Jean!  :o) I attended one of her Camp Kindergarten workshops (this is where my dreams of being a kinder teacher officially started!).  At this workshop she shared her book with us, and I went home the next day and created my very own!

I used Century Gothic font and kept the pages pretty simple.  No borders, no clip art...just words and photographs.  You'll see how I made an OOPS when you get down to the page about my graduation.  It has polka-dots all over it, but the polka dots were supposed to go on the NEXT page!  My handsome was kind enough to point that one out AFTER I had laminated everything...I had it laminated at Staples with their thickest laminate.  I punched holes in the left side and used binder clips to secure the pages together.

My students LOVE this book.  I also put it out for Open House so that the parents can read it too - most of them seemed to enjoy it.  :o)  Plus it is SUPER FUN and SUPER EASY to put together!

Front Cover

I'm going to need to add another page for my sissy!
Totally forgot to put her in my book!  I am a BAD big sissy...

He just got a new job at a new school teaching 4th grade
...need to update this page too! Oops!

I am blessed enough to work with my daddy!  :o)

This is my Hanky-Panky!  :o)

I swear y'all...this is the goofiest dog you will EVER meet!  :o)

See?  Polka dots?  Oops!
PS: those were the signs my family and friends made
when I graduated...they held them up, cheered,
and sounded their fog horns as I crossed the stage!  Love them!!

Would love to see your teacher book if you have one!  Let me know...give me a link or send an email!

Yankees? Red Sox? Whatever...

Happy Sunday!
I am officially a kinder NERD!  Can I tell you that I just finished my back-to-school letter for my parents, updated my teacher contact information card, typed up my rules/behavior plan, and started an outline to give out to parents at our open house...  Whew!  Nerd Alert!  **Did I mention the fact that school doesn't start until August 22nd?  ;o)

Did I ever mention the fact that my handsome is a Red Sox fan?  Did you know they are playing the Yankees right at this particular moment?  Do you know how I know?  I'm sitting in our kitchen blog-surfing away, and every few minutes there are sighs of relief, clapping, then YELLING, then the sound of something hitting the wall across the room, then more sighs of relief, then more instant YELLING!

We took the most amazing, relaxing vacation to the Catskills in New York a few weeks ago.  We were gone for 11 days.  It was some kinda wonderful!  The beginning of our vacation consisted of a visit to Boston.  The Mother Land.  The Home of the Red Sox.  Lord have mercy....

Let me take a minute to explain that I was born and raised a Yankees fan.  Dad is from northern New Jersey.  He grew up going to Yankee Stadium.  Still takes every opportunity he can get.  I have been a handful of times.  Love it!  :o)

My handsome feels, and maybe with good measure, that since I do not keep up with baseball AT ALL (duh, I'm a GIRL!), that I do not hold the right to be a Yankees fan.  I do not have any grounds on which to talk smack to him when they play the Red Sox.  I admit, I really don't...but oh, it is so much fun!

I thought I would be written out of the will when I married handsome.  I have slowly started to take precautionary measures to be "neutral."
Here's one:

Here's another:

I mean, come on, what more do you want from me?  Yes, that's us.  Where you ask?  Fenway Park.  Did I have a great time?  Of course I did.  I mean what girl doesn't have a great time watching all those boys down there in those beautiful baseball uniforms?  LOVE!  By the way, they make the COOLEST hats in Boston: a "B" for Brenna!  They knew I was coming!  :o)

My dad helped me sneak a certain hat into my luggage for the trip...this was my attempted wardrobe for sightseeing in Boston the next day...

I tried to snap a picture of proof that I wore a Yankees hat while IN Boston...but the reason why I'm not looking into the mirror is because handsome busted down the hotel bathroom door as I tried to document my revenge!  :o)  Oops!

Now y'all know that I love my handsome.  I mean, I married the guy - THAT'S how much I love him.  But my loyalty will never change...so as those sighs of frustration filter in from the living room, I am grinning like a fool!  Let's Go Yankees!

PS: Heading back to my classroom tomorrow - wish me luck as I hopefully finish tackling that dag-on closet and work to organize more corners of my room!  Pictures to follow...

Heaven is for REAL

Alright, let me preface this post by saying that I am still at the very beginning of figuring out my relationship with God (I refer to him as Big Man).  This is in no way a post to try to "save" anyone or to push you into believing what I believe.  BUT, I read this book while I was on vacation a few weeks ago and it seriously, emotionally, spiritually changed my life.

I grew up Catholic - we actually grew up right next door to my town's Catholic church.  I went to the elementary school affiliated with our church where I learned all of the necessary Catholic prayers and beliefs.  My mom was a huge teacher in my faith growing up, and I have fond memories of going to church with her.  Even when we went on vacation, she had to find the Catholic church in the area and we had to go.  (I secretly love this now)  :o)

My grandmother and I had a very special relationship.  After her 7 children grew up and had babies of their own, she consumed herself in a very unique search for spirituality.  I remember going to visit her and seeing her latest Buddist book, or theological book on the kitchen table.  She truly immersed herself in finding her own beliefs without letting someone else dictate what she should or shouldn't believe.  She went so far as to say that she didn't think that God is a man.  So if you sat beside her in church, you could hear her clearly skipping the parts in the prayers where you say "God the Father" or "Our Father" or "He will..." In her precious Bible, you will find her handwriting on every single page.  No, I'm not over-eggzagerating.  Every place it has the word "he" or "father" she marked it out and substituted it with "Lord" or "God."

I know what you're thinking.  First, GET TO THE POINT!  and second, Your Grandma's crazy!  :o)

I promise there IS a point, and yes, Grandma would be considered crazy by a few people.

However, the wonderful part about my relationship with my Grandma was that she didn't push her ideals onto other people.  She simply shared what she felt, and she would listen to you unconditionally.  She was on a quest for a complete spirituality.  She inspired me to do the same, and although I go to church (not as much as I should), and I read books about faith and God, and I pray daily with my husband as well as by myself, I still felt like none of that was enough.  I witnessed my Grandma at the very end of her life - her very last days.  I swear you have never seen anyone so calm, so ready.  Every time someone would say to me "I'm so sorry that your Grandma's sick" I replied very matter of factly "It's okay because I know she's ready."  I will never forget sitting with her in her room, listening to her talk about how she felt like she was floating on a cloud.  She wasn't scared one bit.  Just at peace with her life, at peace with her faith, and now I can truly say that I know she is at peace.  Her last request was that we "Be the peace in the world."

Okay, so now for the book: I read this book in one sitting.  It took about 2 1/2 hours.  I balled my eyes out after just 2 pages.

This is about a little boy, just 4 years old, who comes very close to death and actually goes to Heaven.  His parents don't realize that this has happened until a few years later.  His first clue was given when his family passed the hospital where he had the experience.  He pointed and said "that's where the angels sang to me."  That was all it took for me - I was crying - I was hooked - I had to read this book.

Now, I could go on and on about all of the different things that "hit" me while reading this book, but then I would take all the fun out of it for you!  The one thing that the little boy kept saying throughout the book (and now throughout his life) was how much Jesus loves children.  Being a kinder teacher this really spoke to me.  Losing a kinder last year made reading this very special.  Losing my baby brother made reading this close to my heart.  I'm realizing how much impact I have on my kinders at school.  I want to show them just how much they are loved by me, and through me, also loved by Jesus.  Now slow down...hold on...I'm not saying I'm going to go break out my Bible in the middle of Morning Meeting, but there ARE things we as teachers can do to show our students that incredible, gotta have it, wonderful L-O-V-E love.  We can "be thankful" and talk about those feelings.  We can show them how to love and respect each other.  The possibilities are endless...

Let me ask you, have you ever had an experience where you prayed really hard about something...maybe you needed an answer from Big Man, or someone you love was at a crossroad and you wanted advice on how to help them, or your finances were a mess and you desperately needed relief?  And then out of no where the answer just hit you.  My friend Rachel and I have the term to coin it!  It's called a "God Smack."

After reading this book I got a HUGE "God Smack."  I've had them before - loud and clear I figured out where to go to college, what to do when a relationship went sour, etc.  My favorite story from the book is when the mother of the family went outside and saw the biggest and clearest rainbow she's ever seen.  It was stretched out right there in front of the house.  She quickly called her son outside because he loves rainbows (there was a reference about how he saw a beautiful rainbow in Heaven).  He steps just outside the front door and says, "Yeah, I prayed for that last night."  And then he walks back inside.

I read that and thought about how I don't really pray as often as I should.  I've said prayers when people were sick or someone had passed away, and my handsome and I take turns saying grace every night at dinner, but that was about it.  I don't talk to Big Man like I should.  We were on vacation in the mountains, and the next day my handsome and I went fishing on the lake there.  We picked the perfect spot and both started catching fish.  I caught a pretty substantial bass, but the d@%# thing jumped off the hook at the last minute.  Handsome caught a few bass too (they also jumped hook before we could get them into the boat) along with a small pickerel, but nothing life-altering.  As our fishing trip winded down, I could tell that he was a little frustrated.  He wanted "the big one."  All of a sudden, completely out of no where I thought about the little boy and the rainbow.  I don't know why I did it, but I found myself having a conversation in my mind.  Handsome had just cast again, and as he reeled in the hook, I said in my head something like..."it would be so cool if he could catch just one more fish...especially if it was a little bigger than the one that I caught earlier.  I'm not asking this so that he can boast about it or be too proud, but I know that it would make him really happy if he could catch a fish that was bigger than mine...." I wasn't even finished with my last thought before his line was taught and he was reeling in a fish!  Holy cow!  I couldn't believe what I was seeing! I've never prayed a prayer like that before.  But, it was hilarious because when handsome reeled in the fish we found that it wasn't a bass it was a pickerel.  Yes, it was much longer than the bass I caught before, but it wasn't a coveted bass.  What I MEANT when I was saying that prayer was for him to catch a bigger BASS, but I didn't clarify that.  :o)

Back to my point - my "God smack" happened when I realized that I have to pray specifically.  I asked for a bigger fish, but God has a sense of humor, and he sent a pickerel - yes a bigger, longer fish - but not a bigger bass.

If you are still reading this, bless you.  I know I am not the best story teller at all (I tell 5 stories in one and never end up a the original one to finish it), but I hope that there are others out there who share similar experiences.  Maybe you feel inspired to read this book, maybe you want to stop being my follower because "that girl is crazy!"  I'm just very grateful to have people in my life who help me along on my journey.

My favorite quotes:

"If you want to hear God laugh, tell Him your plans."

"Good Morning!  This is God.  I will be handling all of your problems today.  I do not need your help.  So relax, and have a great day!"

"Be the peace in the world."

"And all will be well, and all will be very well."

"Treat everyone with politeness, even those who are rude to you - not because they are nice, but because you are."

...be at peace, and all will be well...

FREE PRINTABLE! :o)

This is on the wall behind my desk at all times.  It is the quote I live by.  I am going to also put it on my bathroom mirror just so I can see it more!  :o)  If you print it on white paper and then glue it to bright green or bright blue paper it really pops! Enjoy!

Good Morning

It's a, Family Tradition!

I promise I'm still here!  I realize that my lack of posts makes me look like a slacker, but hey, getting ready for our school's kindergarten graduation was the most stressful time of the whole year!  On Thursday we said "Happy Summer" to our sweet kinders.  They did a fabulous job performing at their graduation - we were some proud teachers!  Time now to take down the word wall, the bulletin boards, and slowly pack up our first year.  :o)

This is just a quick post today...I want y'all to check out my Mama's blog:

http://saturdaymorns.blogspot.com/

She is an avid "yardsale-er" - I am an every-so-often "yardsale-er."  No, I am not afraid nor am I opposed to venturing out at 5:30 a.m. to find the deals of the century.  And no, it is not the most appealing activity for most, but for a teacher who is married to a teacher, I just can't beat the deals!  When my urge to sleep in on Saturday mornings kicks in, Mama still hunts for me.  She always has a list of items on my wish list.  Decodable readers are a big find - usually you can find them for as little as 10 cents a piece!  Ten books for $1?  Please.  Show me a better deal.

The finger puppets and bookshelves on her latest posts are now at home in my classroom.  Anyway, just promise you'll check her blog out.  If you are thinking of having a yard sale, she has a list of really great advice on the left side of the blog.  If you are on the fence about whether or not yardsale-ing is worth it, there is no question - it totally is!!  :o)

Happy Saturday!

It's all about the HAIR!

Happy Tuesday!

Y'all, can I just tell you how much I used to hate Tuesdays?  Not that anything bad happened, but I felt like I would get through Monday and then Tuesday rolls along and what's so stinkin' special about a Tuesday?  But then my friend Katie said that you just think of it as one more day under your belt until Friday...  If you know me, you know that I LOVE Fridays!  My students even have a chant that we borrowed from my other kinder friend Meredith - we say "It's the WEEKEND, baby!" every Friday...

Okay, sorry, back to Tuesday...the first Tuesday of every month is now devoted to some special time for my hair.  I have FINALLY found a girl that 'gets me.'  I had the most perfect hair stylist for about 8 years, and she could literally read my mind about what I wanted her to do with my hair.  But then she made the decision to get into insurance, and thus did my hair for the last time.  That was about 4 years ago.  And ever since then I have been on the hunt for a new girl.  I went to several different salons 'trying on' hair stylists.  Then on a whim, I called up Panache (a really great salon in my town) and just asked the girl to put me with anybody.  Well, bless her heart, she made the most perfect match!  April has done my hair perfectly now three times in a row!  And it keeps getting better and better!  I must tell you that the most important part of a hair cut/ highlighting session/ style/ whatever is mostly how it looks in the end.  But more importantly it's conversation and relaxing time with the person who is fixing my hair.  If we can't talk, or you just want to stand there and depressingly fix my hair, I don't care how good you are at what you do, we just aren't going to work out.  No offense, but no dice!  So, needless to say, April is the perfect fit.  Please pray that she keeps on doing hair for a VERY long time!  Because she is awesome!  :o)  I went really blonde today...like, really blonde...no picture yet, but it's coming.  I promise!

Another great thing about this day is that even with a time crunch, me and my handsome were able to kick butt in another P90X session.  For those of you who don't know, handsome and I started P90X (it's a workout program that kicks your jiggly hiney!) a month, a week, and 3 days ago.  We dedicated our time and our pantry to this program.  It's been a total life-makeover.

Let me just tell you that he looks amazing!  You can already see his abs forming (JEALOUS!) and he's getting even more handsome by the day (which is a bonus because I didn't think he could get any more good-lookin!).  I have lost about 15 pounds, and my pants fit waaaaaay better already!  I'm trying to remind myself that when men and women work out, the men are much more successful much more fast.  Grrr...but no really, I am super happy with what's happening with me.  This isn't my favorite picture, but it will do for now...

I don't know why I'm rambling so much tonight...I must not have hit my word limit for the day.  They say that women use like 40,000 words per day and men only use about 10,000.  I don't think they factored me in to this equation, because even when I finish teaching for the day, I'm still ready to talk to whoever will listen!  :o)

I turned 26 exactly a week ago.  I was very depressed almost the whole time I was 25 because I knew that being 25 meant that I was only a short ways away from being 26.  That was a depressing number.  It's on the downside to 30, I'm not 21 anymore, there's nothing fun after turning 25...but then for some reason when I woke up the morning of my dreaded 26th, I felt so great!  I am turning the bad feelings away and reminding myself that I am still on this Earth with the people I love, and that in itself is a blessing.  I have to stop complaining so much and just be grateful for everything that I have.  And boy, I have a LOT!  So here is a picture of me and my friends who have given me wonderful times and hopefully many more to come...  (PS: I'm in the pink sequined shirt that I haven't worn in 3 years but now I can!) :o)

Oh, and I got the most beautiful flowers on my birthday from one of my students and then some more from my hubby.  I didn't have enough room for the two arrangements, so I combined them into one:

If you have read all of this, let me just say that you have to be bored out of your mind, and also thank you for being one of my outlets!  I am blown away by the response to my blog, and glad that I can share my little life with some loved ones out there!  :o)

This One's for the Birds...

What a busy Monday!  I surprised the students with this note when they walked into their newly arranged room:

I didn't have anyone pass out, so that was great!  Today was the BEST day of kindergarten so far this year...everything went smoothly, we got EVERYTHING done that I had planned (this doesn't happen often because I always over-plan), and I still had a smile on my face at the end of the day (okay, this almost always happens, but it's great always!).  :o)

I wanted to share my newest edition to the classroom...but you have to look outside:
We have 2 bird feeders, a bird bath, and 2 decorations for the birds to look at while they eat...

The double Shepard's Crook is my early birthday present...Thanks Handsome!!!  I have been totally entertained by our red finches who have come to feast!  The sphere-shaped feeder has tiny holes that the birds climb in and sit and eat...only they couldn't figure out how to get in...until TODAY!  I saw it happen with my own eyes, but the darn thing flew away before I could snap him/her...here's what I got:

Seriously??  Oh well...I'll have my camera waiting next time!

At first we had no birds at all.  I put up the one round feeder, but no one came to munch on the yummy bird seed I bought.  So my mom suggested getting a bird bath because the water will spark their interest, and she happily gave me her extra one (I'm not mentioning how it was the one that my sissy and I gave her for Mother's Day a long time ago...see, I didn't say it!  Nope!).  Guess what?  The bird bath idea...genius!!  I counted 9 birds around and on the feeders at one time!!!

This is the time I have to get a little sappy and emotional...my dear, wise, loving, spiritual, saint of a grandmother passed away last month.  She was a source of strength for me.  It's been a lot harder than I thought it would be.  I can't even begin to describe her if I tried...you just had to know her.  She was a very special soul.  If you can be soul mates with your grandma, then that's what we are.

Anyway, she loved her garden, and especially loved her birds.  She has 5 bird feeders at her house, and there is one bird feeder for each window.  I have so many memories of sitting at the round kitchen table looking out at the birds and watching the many different kinds and colors come to eat along with us.  This is one thing that makes me feel closer to her...watching the birds outside.

I feel like my grandma just outside the window, checking in on us, bringing these beautiful creatures to keep us entertained and feeling loved.  I can see her now, at the kitchen table, eating fruit salad and watching the birds with me...and now it's time to stop because I miss her so much it hurts....

So here's to my soulmate...

...be at peace, and all will be well...

And She Lived Happily Ever After...Blogging

Once upon a time there lived a girl who grew up to be a teacher.  She was married to the most wonderful husband in the whole world!  Every day she came home excited to share with him all the amazing things that happened during her day in Kindergarten.  Ever loving, her husband would sit and listen, but he prayed that she could find someone who cared about Kindergarten as much as she did.  Then one day, the girl stumbled upon blogger!  She was so excited to see all kinds of teaching blogs!!  She liked them so much that she decided to start one of her own.  It looks like she'll live happily ever after, while blogging.  :o)

So this is me, I'm Brenna.

I have a little bit of a problem.  I love teaching Kindergarten waaaaaay too much.  I have a dream class with dream parental support, and we do so many fun things together!  Besides all the time spent making everything for my first year of kindergarten, I also spend time looking for new fun things to do.  The amount of teacher websites out there with great pictures and ideas is simply overwhelming.  I am in no way a computer geek, so me spending lots of time on the computer is just disgusting to me.  But, the outcome of my students' faces while having fun doing the activities I find are priceless.  This blog may be my official demise, because my type-A personality makes me want to perfect every single detail as well as share every single detail.  This is the very first blog I have ever attempted, but surprisingly enough, I don't think I will be devastated if no one ever reads it!  I am so grateful to all the other teachers out there who have posted activities, worksheets, posters, photos of art projects...I realized that I needed an outlet that wasn't my poor husband to tell the world about my ideas!  They may not be brilliant ideas, but the things I get to do with my students sure do make my day!  :o)

So this is me with my new hubby - we just got married this past summer.

He is a teacher too - he teaches 5th grade and is so great at it!  We used to teach in the same school - I was a first grade teacher and he was in fifth.  It's where we met.  Our story is my favorite story of my whole life!  If you are bored enough, you can read about it on our website....  Me and My Baby
He keeps me grounded, but also is able to let loose and we have lots of fun together!  I think that every teacher should be married to another teacher.  We are able to vent to each other, but at the same time we can recognize if the other person needs advice or just needs a platform.

We have two pets: Kody, the Siberian Husky and Hank, the grey tabby cat.  They "love" each other most days, but are still in the adjustment period of their relationship.  I hate to admit it, but I have a feeling that they are stuck forever in that period of their relationship.  It has grown to "I will tolerate your presence."  :o)

We can't wait to start a family...sorry...let me start over: I can't wait to start a family, but we will wait a little while longer for that adventure - we're having so much fun seeing what this whole "marriage" business is like, that we don't think another one would fit in right now.  But like I said, we can't wait to start a family!  So for right now we will eat, drink, and be Married (as Charlotte says), and have a blast!

So that's all for now...be at peace, and all will be well.
